In Portland, we have a wonderful resource called SCRAP Creative Reuse Center.  They accept donations of a wide variety of things and encourage the community to use them in creative ways.  Yesterday I took a trip there with visions of potential projects in my head.  I made a beeline to the home decorator sample fabric books and found two with lots of beautiful patterns and colors.  Next, off to the scrap wood.  I found 2 sample cabinet doors that you typically find in home decorating stores.  I thought they would be a wonderful backdrop for some hanging wall art.  After paying $7 for my finds, I was off to get started on my projects.   Here is the first of two projects.

You have to search, but it’s amazing what you can be inspired by. And everything is so reasonably priced. 🙂
